Job Description

• The Accountant Assistant will support the accounting department by performing various clerical and administrative tasks.
• This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
• The Accountant Assistant will assist in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in inputting financial transactions into accounting software, and maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Track and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and send out invoices to clients.
• Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records.
• Identify and correct any discrepancies.
• Assist in processing payroll maintaining payroll records and distributing employee paychecks.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the office filing system.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
• Maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
• The Accountant Assistant may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• NCE / OND or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in an accounting or administrative role is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary
N60,000 – N70,000 monthly.
